For 15 months, Mayor Pam failed to give Fire Chief Aria Green a written reprimand, but now asked him to resign. Now Mayor Pam looks like a fool. You want to be in government? You gotta be tough - and honest. Next thing you know, teachers won’t be able to use red ink. If someone is f-cking up, they need to know *in no uncertain terms and in writing, so they can begin improvements. If that someone happens to be paid by the taxpayers, then we all have a right and a need to know.
*in no uncertain terms is a phrase that is widely overused, but here I am using it literally: evaluations should be written using language that makes it perfectly clear what the issue is, what is expected, and the consequences of failure.
