Back in September, Cargill’s Riverview plant spilled toxic water into Tampa Bay. I later learned that some of that waste came from Piney Point, and has been hanging around since the 1960’s. Shortly after that report, Cargill changed the name (pdf) of a few of its facilities, in the hopes that you’ll forget all about that bad ol’ Cargill. The renamed company, Mosaic is building new acid wastewater bathtubs, and will soon move the same Piney Point acidic waste to the new holding ponds.

I cannot confirm that the new company name “Mosaic” is based on the looks of the wildlife and diseased foliage after being confronted by a spill.
