Good luck to the reigning State Champion Armwood Hawks and the Jefferson Dragons, Hillsborough’s entrants in the State Finals this weekend. Best wishes go out to Polk’s Lake Gibson (Armwood’s opponent) and Lakeland High teams as well.
UPDATE 4:31 pm: Robert kindly informed me in the comments that I forgot one other school: “Polk also has Fort Meade in the 2A Finals this weekend as well” Sorry about that!!!

[...] My brother-in-law mentioned that the name sounded familiar and suggested he may have gone to school with a “Lee Chavis.”  A quick look at the 1995 Armwood High School yearbook revealed that his memory was accurate. Lee Chavis was a senior at Armwood in Seffner, just a couple of years after I graduated from there.
