Nationwide, Tarpon Springs is known as the place to be for the Epiphany celebration. It is a cherished tradition that reflects the rich Greek heritage of Tarpon Springs. A bunch of youngsters dive in the cold waters of Tarpon Springs to retrieve one white cross as 20,000 people watch the spectacle.
Announced at the festivity was that Tampa will be the home to a new Greek consulate. The consulate is expected to open this March, joining two other consulates in Tampa, Panama and Costa Rica. Along with the notice last week of the Theodoros statue going up in Clearwater, there is a lot of Greek in the news lately.
