Jobsite Theater and their artists have consistently won local media awards beginning with Weekly Planet’s 1999 Best of the Bay awards. WP named them Best New Theater Company, and they took six Readers’ Choices including Best Director, Best Playwright and Best Play. nods. That same year, the Tribune called them “The Mouse that Roared like a Lion”

WP Best of the Bay awards followed for several Jobsite individuals, including at least one each year of their existence. In 2003, the company earned four BoBs, including best Play (Cloud 9) and Best Theater Company. David M. Jenkins and Katrina Stevenson each have received Individual Artist Grants from the Arts Council of Hillsborough County. And both David M. Jenkins and Shawn Paonessa were named to the Business Journal’s 30 Under 30

Show performances also garnered Jobsite some honors too. Since 2000, eleven Jobsite productions have ended up on top ten lists. In fact, four of the five plays produced in 2003 earned the honor.

The above is not a complete list of all Jobsite’s accomplishments. It’s just hard to rattle off all the awards without sounding awfully monotonous. Plus which awards are which really don’t mean sh*t. All you need to know is that Jobsite is full of quality people who consistently produce quality shows.

So now you know you should support these guys. I suggest you go do it now. Due to popular demand the March of the Kitefliers has had its run extended through this weekend. If you have not yet seen the show, you still have time. The last performances are tonight and tomorrow. And don’t forget their fundraiser with Joe Popp is going on Saturday night at New World Brewery.
