Charles Barkley once said:

[An athlete is] not your role model… Parents should be role models.

You can use Dwight Gooden for either side of that argument.

Only 15 days after his son was arrested, Doc got busted too. And to show his son how to be a real man, he’s hiding from the cops.

To his credit, he turned himself in about an hour and a half ago. I guess it’s better than finding Doc dead somewhere.

God did Doc come crashing down quickly… He’s publicly commented that he contemplated suicide before.

Doctor K needs help - someone from the baseball world needs to reach out to him to get his head out of the retirement bullshit it’s invested in. I mean, they’ve given Darryl Strawberry how many chances? How many other criminals and crooks have played the game and been embraced after their problems?

I know I’m sick of stuff like this from athletes and I’m making an exception because I grew up a Mets fan… Call me a hypocrit but someone, throw Doc a line!
