putting the dis in dysfunctional
This is an opinion piece by the Tribune, but read it for examples on how the HCBOCC conducts simple matters, such as choosing what boards they want to join: Predatory Politics Hurts County. I’m tempted to jump on the ‘let’s have a county mayor‘ bandwagon just because of who the current commissioners are.
Pathetic, really.

I have watched County Commision meetings on TV and Rhonda Storms behaviour is rude and uncalled for in a public forum, especially when directed towards Castor. IMHO, Storms needs to be censured for her unprofessional, rude, vindicative behaviour on Council Meetings. Its all recorded on the TV for you peoples to see.

“What does that tell you about the ability of this group to chart a course for Hillsborough’s future?”
Tells me that it’s damn near time to take my business and my tax dollars away from here. Seriously. I’m tired of being dismissed as a f***tard from Florida. Too many factors weighing against this place. I’ll never get truly talented employees to stay at this rate.
Damn shame, too.

It is unfortunate that we have no leadership on the board. Other counties who are structured in the same manner appear to find concensus without the partisan politics spoiling the pot. I suspect that many of the commissioners are carrying the message their sponsors want heard -not what the people want and feel. An atmosphere of intolerence has been created here and it fosters attitudes of hate and boldness to act upon such intolerence such as the recent hate group march in Plant City. If we don’t get some leadership in the county, we stand to loose a lot-a valuable reputation; a lot of tourist dollars; and more improtantly, a lot of our kindness and respect to all men, women and children.
