bikini bar will open

A judge says the Valrico Bikini Bar can open. Turns out that county officials’ (read: Ronda Storms) special attention and delays to this particular business may have been illegal. And expensive:

Lirot vowed to sue Storms… [which] could cost the county hundreds of thousands of dollars in business damages and attorney fees.

Boy, if only “county officials” could have been warned about the excessive costs and unlikely success this endeavor…. What’s that? Oh yeah, we told them six months ago. You did send that email, right?

Perhaps they didn’t get your message. BOCC Chair Jim Norman:

“From my perspective, we were doing what the community wanted us to do. We fought the fight for them.”

Hey Jim, thanks! But if 52% of the community suggests four of the seven commissioners jump off a cliff, will you be so quick to “fight the fight” for that community? Of course not. Part of your job is to make intelligent decisions in regards to your community desires, not to spend money in a worthless endeavor (not talking about the sports park worthless endeavor, mind you).

A couple more notes:

1. This affair goes to show that even though there are seven members of the BOCC, one determined commissioner has the power to attempt to intimidate other staffers.

2. Terry Kemple is an idiot. Bikini bar lawyer Luke Lirot: “Had Mr. Kemple not filed his appeal, the true flaws would have been more difficult to prove. In essence he assisted us.”

3. You think this waste of YOUR money will keep Storms from a Senate Seat?

Jim & Ronda have no worth.

  2. Brett Says:

And now they’re going after strip clubs. Again.

Has it really been worth all the money and time the county has invested in fighting these clubs/witch-hunting Joe Redner? I’m almost glad I don’t live in Hillsborough anymore. At least my tax dollars aren’t going to waste on this ridiculous agenda the BOCC has.

Thatlady is way to obsessed with the sex lives of others. That usually means she’s into some pretty strange stuff herself. Best money spent by her opponents would be to hire a top-gun Private Investigator. Bet their are some really serious skeletons on that closet.

  4. bamaroller Says:

Ronda needs to be elected to the State House so that she can do less damage in Tallahassee getting crowded out by other legislators and someone way more intelligent (Tommy, for example) can represent the good people of East Hillsborough.

    The Voted reflects the Voter.

  6. Brett Says:

If Tommy was on the BOCC they could hold meetings most Friday nights at the Blue Shark at 9PM, featuring a full bar, talented waitstaff, and Tampa Bay’s best party band.

  7. Q Says:

    Indeed.

Ronda Storms will get thousands of dollars of contributions from County employees …. it’s the only thing we can do to get rid of her.
