So instead of lobbyists paying the way of our county commissioners, the BOCC decides to cut expenses for area businesses (via those lobbyists), and stick it straight to the taxpayers.
Not only will this result in higher expense for Hillsborough County residents, but it is GUARANTEED to line commissioners’ pockets with more money. Check the quote from County Administrator Pat Bean regarding functions to which she is invited:
“I know that $625 a month sounds like a lot, but I spend $300 to $400 per month.”
So that would put $225 to $325 extra in Bean’s pocket, were she a commissioner. And if any commissioner were to decline all invitations within a month, voila, the taxpayer can make that month’s car payment for the official. Hold that… Commissioners already get $300/month car allowance. What a gig.
This is a completely bad idea.
Note: Ronda Storms voted against this measure along with Kathy Castor. Storms doesn’t “want a stipend because I don’t want to have to go to all these things.” The other five idiots are all for it.

All Ronda wants is some free time on the weekends.
“I want a life, this is not my life, I work to live, I don’t want to do this stuff all the time.”
Maybe you can talk her into coming by the Blue Shark sometime, though apparently she won’t eat or stay long, so you won’t have to foot any bill.
