Never to be outdone by their arch-enemy, the Tribune writes a non-story of their own. Less than a week after the St. Pete Times ran a non-story on the front page, the Trib gives us this uninteresting, unimportant gem on the front of Metro: Bucs Games Well-Attended By The TSA.
See, the papers has been following this since January of 2005. As if anyone cares.
The Tampa Sports Authority (TSA) actually goes to sporting events. What is the big freakin’ deal?

They WORK in the building. If they are charging the county overtime for being in the building — then there is something to this story.

This is a recurring stories about the Sports Authorities on both sides of the Bay (and probably all over the country). The issue is, how much of an imbalance is there between these guys going to games/events and their attendance at meetings? Not to mention their effectiveness in doing their Authority jobs. Are they there just to cash in on the perks, or are they actually working too?
I don’t think it’s a non-story. Keeps them on their toes.

We’re talking about people on the TSA who not only can well afford to buy their own Bucs season tickets, but they go to games, eat fancy food, guzzle top-shelf liquor and smooch the Glazers’ arses, all on the TAXPAYER DIME!
I don’t want to say these people tend to eat too much, but I’d be afraid to even get on a freight elevator with some of them because of weight limits. I’m guessing SALAD isn’t on the catering menu.
While that’s a legitimate story, the one the Trib had on its front page today about investors flipping condos was yawner. Way to win over younger readers. Soon people will regard newspapers the same as VCR tapes.
