Tampa Florida has no tall buildings. Tampa Florida does have a lot of short people looking at short buildings in the light of day. Short people = short buildings. Increase the size of the person or the building and then Tampa becomes "The Mecca of the south..home of tall buildings for all" Build it..Mr. Trump and they will come.

[...] Earlier this month, the Tampa Bay History Center told us that construction began on the Floridan Hotel in 1926. Last May, the Trib published a couple stories of the old hotel, and I finally went back and found it. There are some pretty cool recollections within the Trib article, if you like that sort of thing.
Would do it in a heartbeat if I could. I love that building. Only other hitch I see is parking.

How great would it be to see the Floridan restored to its former glory? The structure is still in sound shape (unlike Maas Brothers, which sadly awaits the wrecking ball) and could be turned into a Manhattan-style hotel, or maybe even a swank condo tower. All it needs is solid financial backing and a lot of foresight. Any takers?
