Earlier this month, the Tampa Bay History Center told us that construction began on the Floridan Hotel in 1926.  Last May, the Trib published a couple stories of the old hotel, and I finally went back and found it.  There are some pretty cool recollections within the Trib article, if you like that sort of thing.

It’s a shame there are no hotel redevelopers brave enough to restore the Floridan to its former glory. Hotels like this in other cities have been returned to service, so why not here?

Bama, they are in the process of remodeling the Floridian “To it’s former glory”. I’ve told you this before.

Yeah but I’ve been hearing plans to “Restore the hotel to it’s former glory” since I was a kid. I’ll believe it when I see construction dumpsters outside of it.

ARC reviews on Hillsborough TV every so often, windows opened in that building for the first time in 15 years as work goes on…

The ARC process alone take a whiel but it IS moving forward.
