blurbex is the name
I told you that the St. Pete Times “alternative” weekly known as tbt* is going daily. Let me clarify – they are going to a Mon-Fri format – no weekends (yet?).
But since we are on the subject of weeklies, tbt* isn’t the only one publishing more often. Buried in this very exciting article by Max Linsky, is the leak that the WP will soon unveil its brand-spankin’ new… BLOG.
Right now it is shrouded in a veil of secrecy (usernames, passwords, and other digital locks), but I’m sure that one day you’ll be able to get all the inside stories of the Weekly Planet (that they want you to know, of course) at http://www.blurbex.com/.
Exciting stuff, huh?

I’m betting that Wayne Garcia and John Sugg will do most of the posts. Spare me the Scott Harrell hanging out with his scenester friends stories. He makes me miss the days of Tom Roe back when the Planet was Creative Loafing.
David Warner let Harrell and Linsky write about whatever they want. Not a good idea. I can also detect the hint of sarcasm in your writing about the Linsky article. Biting the hand they gave you five extra visitors for one week?

I disagree about Scott and Max’s posts. they provide diversity, and true local flavor. That’s the great thing about WP - you don’t like so-and-so, skip it. At least they’re staying true to the area, the “alternative” and to real local voices.
Say what you want, it’s still the best local print publication in town.
They could be all tbt* after all …

what a waste of paper. Save a tree.

as far as WP blog, how about a day late and a dollar short on that one. Where have they been for the last 6 months. It goes to prove that print is dead, long live the Internet.

You might want to check out Eric Deaggins blog at the St. Pete Times Web site. He not only confirms the daily publication, but he also talks about how the Tribune and their bowtimes and suspenders are suing the Times over tbt*

David, you run a great theatre company. But you are also a scenester. I could write about how Scott Imrich owes me a six pack of Heineken that he swiped from me from the WMNF refrigerator. But only a hand full of people will care. Next time you go to the Hub; ask Scott if he ever climbed the WMNF radio tower drunk.
For the record: Scott did attempt to repay me with a can of Schlitz. The can came from a six pack with a 99 cent sticker on it. The man does know how to drink in style.

Dude, I’m a scenester? I don’t know if I should be flattered or offended. I had no idea.

Speaking of the Times, does anyone here read the Business journal? You should see what they have on the front about what that paper did to Rick dodge.

Don’t be offended. I was a scenester back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth. The Hub was around back then, too.
