February 23, 1936 – Mildred “Babe” Didrikson breaks the course record at Palma Ceia Country Club by four strokes during an exhibition match, shooting an even par 77. She would return to Tampa later in life and purchase the old Forest Hills Country Club, now known as Babe Zaharias Golf Course.
