wanted - google mashup

I would like a map - preferably a google satellite map - that allows me to stick a pushpin on a map and give each spot a label.  I know there must be one or two out there - would someone be so kind as to point me to a user-friendly (in other words, this computer illiterate needs to use it) site that has this?

I think you can do it on the program “Google Earth” …you have to download the program

Actually http://www.gmaptrack.com/ looks like it could be down right now. I don’t know whether it’s temporary or permanent.

I notice that Flickr allows you to post notes to specific sections of a photo. Perhaps you could create a “photo” out of your map, store it on Flickr, and then use the service’s note feature to document the specific spots you want. It would be easy for you or I to do with any image editor, but Flickr keeps the note placements dynamic and by virtue of a login, multiple people could work on it.

The best site that I’ve found so far is http://www.communitywalk.com. Look here for an example of a Tampa map http://www.communitywalk.com/map/312
