On March 1, 2003, my girlfriend and I showed up at the Columbia Restaurant. By the time we left later that night, she was my wife.
After The Toddler and I exchanged vows with Fiance and The MiddleSchooler, we all danced to ”At Last.” Then we drank some beer, ate some food, partied a bit, danced some more (watch volume), and broke a plate.
Somehow since then, The Toddler became The KinderKid, Fiance became wifey, and The MiddleSchooler became The Driver.
Also, I have never been happier. It’s difficult to come up with the words that convey my feelings (hey, I’m a guy, you know). All I know is that I love my wife more than I thought possible, and never want to do anything without her.
Before The Driver left for school this morning, she loaded our wedding CD, hit play and ran out the door. What a great kid. What a great wife. What a great family. I have a great life.
I love you wifey. And you too Driver. And you too KinderKid. Happy Anniversary to us all.

Cheers to you and the family! I’m at work though, so no champagne toast. Will coffee do?

Thank you honey. I called the driver this morning and she was all giggles about the CD playing…she is great! I look forward to the next 100 years!

Awesome, Tommy! I actually met my bee-lovid two years ago this date. I was so taken by her I asked her last September to marry me. Amazingly, she said OK. So we’ll celebrate this anniversary in style, while planning the big W-Day this spring.
Life is Grand, as Camper Van Beethoven once sang.
