We wondered if Samm Simpson would get the necessary signatures — 2500 at the time of the post with less than 2 weeks to get the rest — to be placed on the ballot versus C.W. “Bill” Young and Florida’s 10th Congressional seat.

Simpson reports she delivered 4,617 petitions to the Pinellas Supervisor of Elections office on Monday, April 10th. After many delays on the count, the verdict is in and Samm Simpson’s petition attempt has been certified and she will be appearing on the ballot come November.

  1. Mr. Bill Says:

A previous Democratic candidate that stepped up to run against Bill Young wound up doing nothing but running a miserable campaign that resulted in Bill Young spending some great amounts of money to turn out Republican voters to help elect more Republicans to local office. If Simpson is running to make a point, that point might not really be the only one that gets made. If Simpson wants to run a real campaign against Young, then they need to have a campaign with real money and professional media and management. Otherwise, they might just as well go ahead and support the Republican Party directly instead of doing it clandestinely as an ineffective candidate.

Samm Simpson IS media though… Look over her credentials.

And part of the problemw ith “Sound Management” comes from the top of the Democratic party. Their consultants have such a poor track record that it’s amazing to see the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committe, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committe or the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee still exist. These groups have helped tank candidates with the strategy that they provided…

    Hey John:

I know it’s been a while, but after a week including feature articles in the St. Pete Times, Weekly Planet, tv coverage on Bay News 9, ABC affiliate, and an hour of radio on WMNF radio and other stations, guyess there’s no reason to be skeptical any more!
