Yesterday our favorite elected board got together to discuss the effects of a county mayor on the Environmental Protection Commission. As happens with this board from time to time, the conversation degraded into insults.
After Storms brought up an alleged illegal zoning discussion from a closed-door meeting six years ago,
Storms: …your credibility is in shambles.
Castor: …do you have any dignity whatsoever?
Storms: …at least I have integrity.
Castor: Little to none.
Seven more months of this.
Update 21 Apr 2006 10:42am: The cover of the print tbt* has photos of both commissioners sporting black eyes (doctored). Addison says there is no difference between commission meetings and the Jerry Springer show.

I never thought I would see a pissing match between two ladies.
Well, one lady and one blowhard.

Again I say, when Ronda tries to pull this sort of crap in Tallahassee she will be sufficiently humbled. (How can you tell she’s got a black eye with all that Maybelline anyway?)

I love Norman’s comment–they’ll show at the next meeting and they’ll be pros.
Based on what fanciful reminiscence does he think THAT will happen? If anything, we can expect them to both show up at the next meeting and NOT be even remotely professional.
What bugs me is, these are very like the next state senator and Congresswoman from this area. I’m going to have to reregister to vote in another county just to save myself that embarassment.

Tommy - are you trying to be neutral? What’s Kathy supposed to do when Ronda tries to bully her? Take it? Ronda is an embarrassment and her constituents shouldn’t promote her to Senate. She is a disgrace.

What’s really funny, is that of five men on that board, not a single one stepped in to say, “you two are acting like a couple of bitches, shut up.”

I don’t know guys… I gotta hand it to Castor for not bitch slapping her right there. If a batshit lunatic like Ronda Storms insulted my integrity, I might have a really hard time remaining professional.

Back to that remark about armtwisting the State Farm agents who $upport Ronda…if you don’t like her, vote with your dollars. It’s the only vote you have left.

Neutral? we report, you decide.
The bigger point is this: Obviously, the commission chairman (Jim Norman) has no control over the other commissioners. So, until Ronda Storms leaves, this is the kind of action we can expect. What a legacy.

Norman must go. This is a direct reflection of his leadership as so-called commission chairman that he would allow this meltdown of decorum in the first place. If it wasn’t for him (and Ronda) we wouldn’t even need to discuss the county mayor idea. He oughta think about that next time he wants to fund $40 mil to name a sports complex after himself. (Have you seen this guy? Only sports he ever experienced is what he’s seen on TV or in a luxury suite. I’m surprised it wasn’t him that had the Bee Brian restaurant slip/fall. Just keep your hands and feet away from Bluto’s mouth!)

Congratulations to Addison, cookie and Meridith for being the only non-Sticks commenters on this post.

Do we win a prize??

[...] As for those New Tampa residents that just drove on past: don’t let these good people down. Regardless of which way you feel about this issue, say something! At the very least you’ll give the county commissioners something to do, hopefully taking time away from their usual commission activities.
