go google yourself

So Mark Holan has a cute little piece about a Myspace page that parodied our favorite BOCC loudmouth.

Storms discovered the profile Sunday during a routine search of her name on the Internet.

Routine search? You must get some pretty wacky stuff if you run that search I thought. So I tried it. When I google “Ronda Storms” I got mostly county websites, the Weekly Planet, and a slew of gay rights sites. I googled (yes I use the word as a verb) “Ronda Storms Myspace” and I got this cached page of the old myspace site that is offline now.

I understand searching for your name since there are real security concerns that she has for herself and her family. As Addison also mentions, complaining that you are being parodied on one of the most popular and overpopulated websites in the world is just asinine though.  Not to Ronda:

“I can’t let it go unrebutted; I can’t let it go unremarked.”

Well actually you can. In fact I have heard of a book that addresses this very issue. I forget the name of the book but as I recall the line went something like this.

If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.

I haven’t been to church since I was ten years old, so maybe they changed that part.  You don’t have to respond to every critic, Ronda.  I hear the Internet is just full of critical people and there just aren’t enough hours in the day to respond to all those who don’t like you.

Ronda’s turning into a female Bill O’Reilly, determined to go after every single person who criticizes or ridicules her in the least amount. Can’t wait til she gets to Tallahassee where she will get smacked down on a daily basis, just like on the playground back in school. I’m willing to bet Edit knows more about the Good Book than she does. BTW Ronda, go on and add me to your “enemies list.” Shorten to Bama if you like.

I kinda feel left out, I mean I’ve made fun of her a few times, but I haven’t gotten jack shit as far as harassment from her. Where’s the ronda? Where’s the love?

Edit-a thousand pardons for not posting here before jumping to Tommy’s post on the same topic. Come to think of it, “You don’t have to respond to every critic, Ronda” was good advice for everyone concerned on that thread, myself included.

Awesome piece - and I admit, I found it by “googling” myself. Oh, come, on, you guys would occasionally if you were me!

Can I just say right here with impunity that I try and try, but I just can’t warm up to Ronda Storms?

Oh my god, it’s really nice to be an ordinary citizen and type that on a blog.

[...] She’s also finally gotten her very own campaign website: RondaStorms.com.  At least I think this one is truly hers.  I’m pretty sure these didn’t have the “paid for by blah blah blah” that you sometimes see.  Then again, you never know these days.  [...]
