hooray for the d-rays
The results are trickling in and it seems the fans have responded to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays’ new ownership.
Maybe it’s the free parking. Maybe it’s the (very slightly) reduced concession prices. Or maybe it’s the fact that the team actually seems to be on the verge of something great. Although it’s real early, the Rays are on pace to win more than 70 games this season.
Whatever it is, almost 79,000 more fans showed up to the first 10 games of this season than last season.
For those of you who haven’t been to a game yet: why not? It is the cheapest pro sports team in town. Tickets have been going for as little as five bucks (for other than Yankees games). Parking is free, and a hot dog is less than five bucks now - that’s better than movie theatre prices!
The Trop may not be the best stadium in Major League Baseball, but if you haven’t been there you’ll find there are surprisingly few bad seats, and even very good seats go for less than twenty bucks.
This is your team. The Lightning is done, and the Bucs don’t start for a couple months. Take in a Rays game, you’ll have a good time.

Well-put. And with hot dogs/sodas being $1 on Mondays, ticket-two-fers on Tuesdays, Web Wednesdays, and DOLLAR BEERS ON FRIDAYS, there’s really no excuse for missing a game. You can pay $8.50 for a ticket to a crappy movie or $8.00 for a ticket to a real-live major league game. You decide.

Now if only I didn’t despise American League baseball… j/k (had to make another excuse — because someone ALWAYS has an excuse)
