St. Pete’s Sunscreen Film and Video Festival (May 5-7 at The Studio @620) is the newest addition to the local film fest line-up.  Sponsored by the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Film Society, this film fest was established to provide a venue for new and established independent filmmakers.  The film society received almost 200 submissions from around the world for this year’s festival.  34 films, including a couple from local filmmakers, were chosen to screen this Saturday and Sunday, with Friday night reserved for the festival kickoff party.
