75 years ago…

May 11, 1931 – The Celo Company of America, known for its brand of carbonated beverages, purchases the four-story Bentley-Gray building at Zack and Pierce streets for its permanent national headquarters. Dr. R.A. Thorne, president of Celo, said the purchase of the building was necessary in order to meet the rapidly increasing growth of the business.
