first the asterisk - now the spot?
Skate Park of Tampa is often referred to as “the SPoT.” With summer coming up, you can be sure to hear many sk8r kids talk about hanging out at SPoT.
A few years ago, WFLA (Media General) wanted a Daytime type of show at night. Since they couldn’t really call it Nighttime, they decided to name it “The Spot.” I’m sure you’ve seen this show – it is available on many tv stations around the state. Beautiful Lindsey Brien is always running around Florida, getting into all sorts of wacky adventures.
Rumors are swirling that there will be yet another spot in Tampa. er… another Spot. A new, printed version of The Spot. According to some people who claim to know such things, the Tampa Tribune (also Media General) has decided to produce a new tab magazine designed to compete with the St. Pete Times tab, tbt*. This new tab will be given the original name of “The Spot,” and it will be tied to the aforementioned television program.
I’ve been trying to confirm this, but no one at the Tribune is talking…
