road rage ranks

AAA wannabe AutoVantage released a report ranking the top cities for road rage. Miami ranks as the area with the rudest drivers out of “20 major metropolitan areas.” On the other hand, Minneapolis has the nicest drivers under the sun.

“So,” you might think. “Tampa has a bunch of reckless drivers, where do we rank on this list?”

The answer is… we don’t.

You see, even though Tampa/St. PeteTampa is... Traffic is the 12th biggest metropolitan area, nobody called us. But we are not alone. Orlando is the 20th biggest metro area in the United States, and their phone didn’t ring, either.

So which cities are stuck in some minds as the biggest? St. Louis (21st in size), San Diego (26th), and Nashville (#30) were all included on the list. St. Louis & Nashville ranked 2nd and 3rd nicest drivers. You know it’s because they don’t have any traffic.

I don’t know about this. I may have to put the SkippyCam in my sister’s car to prove we “SHOULD” be on that list “SOMEWHERE”

Ummm..being the 12th media market doesn’t make us the 12th largest urban area. The Tampa MSA (Metropolitan Service Area) is 27th. Yes traffic is bad, but we are also
very spread out and not dense enough to warrant rail or other mass transit, despite what many may tell you (::cough:: Pam Iorio)

Hey steppin! Thanks for commenting, and thanks for the info. Do you have a link to a list of MSA’s – I’d love to use it for reference…

Tommy-check out http://www.census.gov. The fastest way to find specific stuff is through “Subjects A to Z” and your MSAs will be under Metropolitan and Micropolitan Statistical Areas. But don’t just zip through the main page, there’s lots of interesting stuff there.
