door of hope
June 4, 1901 – The Tampa Morning Tribune reports that The Door of Hope, a home for prostitutes who want to change their lives, opened in a home at 105 Ross Avenue in Tampa Heights. The Door of Hope was a religion-based organization run by local women on a volunteer basis for the “purpose of saving penitent girls.”
