Inc. Magazine has ranked the best cities to do business.  For large “cities,” *Tampa Bay ranks 9th.  On the list of large cities, Las Vegas is first, followed closely by the great Floridian cities of Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and West Palm Beach.  Jacksonville is number 11.

For all sizes of cities combined, Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater ranks 64th, while Yuma, AZ tops the list.

So, how did so many places in Florida end up on the list?  The survey really just measures growth.

Found via the Tampa Bay Business Journal:  Tampa Bay makes Top 10 in Boom Town rankings.

*editor’s note:  this link is to the correct place, but as of this moment, the content incorrectly shows the “small cities” bit.  I’m linking here in hopes that Inc. Magazine eventually fixes the page.

Sounds like their “hottest cities” list is correlated very closely with actual temperature.
