June 10, 1906 – Fernandez Martinez Campos was shot and killed by friend and coworker Rafael Sanchez on the corner of 18th Street and 13th Avenue in Ybor City. The episode began when Sanchez was fired from his job at the Alvarez & Rodriguez Restaurant. Sanchez expected Campos, along with others, to boycott the restaurant. The argument turned violent, and Sanchez shot Campos one time in the chest.
