buccaneers first practice
July 6, 1976 – Dressed in full-pads in scorching, 90-degree heat, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers conduct the first-ever practice in team history at One Buc Place. Despite his displeasure about some players showing up out of shape, head coach John McKay came away pleased with the condition of the team’s new facility. “Give us six months,” he said, “and we will have the best facility in the National Football League.” Thirty years later, the Buccaneers are preparing to move out of One Buc Place, long-regarded as the worst training facility in the league, to new state-of-the-art headquarters near Raymond James Stadium.

Everything I’ve read to this point says it will be ready by the start of the regular season.

The company my hub works with is doing all the mill-work for the new training facility. one of the things that is slowing them down is the number of change orders. But it is all coming together and should look great when it’s done.

My friend got a walk through today. It is due to be ready in time when the bucs break camp. His words were that it is awesome. The Glazers offices are as big as houses. Gruden has a John overlooking the practice fields. Locker room is huge, mahogany trimmed lockers. Laura is right, many things came not as expected and they sent them back. One a huge buc logo carpet had to be redone.
