about those other 22 hours

You’re about to find out an awful lot about my swingin’ lifestyle.

I watched the Democratic gubernatorial primary debate between Rod Smith and Jim Davis - live, on Saturday night.

Now that you’ve finished rolling your eyes, you should know that I still managed to enjoy living in Tampa Bay that night.  The Tampa Bay area was one of only two areas in the state that was lucky enough to get live television coverage of the debate, thanks to the fine folks at Bay News 9.

It may not always be easy to fill a 24-hour broadcast with Bay area news, but this is precisely the sort of coverage for which a channel like this should exist. It’s not riveting television, but having that type of coverage available is a resource for which we should be thankful. It’s a shame it’s only available to Bright House customers.

For the sake of equal time, Bay News 9 is hoping to air a Crist-Gallagher debate soon - check Political Connections for updates.

Now we can all hope for a weekday debate next time so non-shut-ins will also have a chance to size up the candidates.

Troy Kinsey said that the debate should be up on Tampa Bay on Demand - Channel 340 - sometime soon (should have been there today). It’s not there yet, and I have emailed him — he indicated he would get the powers that be on it.

You’re correct…the debate will appear on Tampa Bay On Demand, and my guess is they’ll have it up there by tomorrow. …

    Thanks again,
    Troy
