feed the camel
The Flyer, Hungry Howie’s coupons, ads for dry cleaners - those were the junk mail salad days.
Now it’s all condo ads, touting the fun-filled grand opening of a Phase II in hopes of beating the cooling sales market. So in order to stand above the rest, you need a gimmick, like this one in an ad for Stone Creek Pointe in North Tampa:
Have some food, tour the models and feed Gus, the camel!
Is that a real esate euphemism? Is Gus the humped CEO of the development company?
Assuming the camel is literal, I’m rather intrigued by the petting zoo approach to condo sales marketing. It’s not a bad idea tapping into a couple of common childhood dreams - owning a home and pony rides. But you can bet Gus will be sent home the first time he spits on a potential home buyer.
It’s all happening this weekend from 12-5 PM, should you be interested in a condo or fiasco.

Dealing with camels and condos could be better than dealing with politicans in an election year.

Need any more proof that condo sales are a great big JOKE now? I knew the boom was over when I saw the inflatable Superman on Kennedy Blvd one Saturday.

I am getting interest in condos now but it is mostly from first time buyers. They see it as a way to avoid some uncertainty about insurance. They also are not always interested in keeping a yard or don’t want to worry so much about maintenance issues.
