help save the beagles
Earlier this month 6 adult beagles & beagle mixes were found all crammed together in a kennel in Georgia. The kennel was so filthy that the dogs were standing in their own urine and feces. There were maggots inside the cages, and there was no food or water in sight.
To
think people could treat animals like this… I just don’t understand it. But it gets even worse. There were 3 Beagle puppies in the same condition. Also found was a cat in a wire cage in full sun. And last they found a turtle in an aquarium in full sun… dead. No food or water for any of them.
Luckily, all of the dogs and the cat have been taken by various rescues. Tampa Bay Beagle Rescue was able to take 4 of them.
One of the dogs, “Dayla” has a 3.5″ hernia hanging from her little rear end and she needs surgery. The Chief of Surgery at University of Florida. College of Veterinary Medicine in Gainesville has agreed to perform the surgery at almost 50% off. AFter that fantastic discount, Dayla’s surgery will cost about $1,000.
I personally have collected $415.00 from family, friends and co-workers. Now I’m turning to the fans of Sticks of Fire for help. It doesn’t matter if you can donate one dollar or one hundred dollars. Whatever you can afford… as every dollar counts!!! Dayla is scheduled to have her surgery on September 13th.
Tampa Bay Beagle Rescue is run by an all volunteer staff (NO PAID EMPLOYEES). They are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and your donation is tax deductible. All donations received come from private citizens, just like you. We do not receive an county, state or federal funding.
- 65% of donations we receive goes towards medical treatments and expenses.
- 30% goes towards feed, supplies and any kennel fees, as sometimes we don’t have enough foster homes open for the dogs.
- 5% goes towards administrative fees such liability insurance, county fees, etc..
If you are able to make a donation to help Dayla have her surgery, please mail a check payable to “Tampa Bay Beagle Rescue” Mail it to:
Dale Blake

Slip a note in your envelope and tell Dale you’re a Sticks of Fire fan and you want to help Dayla. I will ask Dale to keep a tally of the donations from SOF fans, and I’ll keep you posted as to what amount has been collected.
Thank you all for taking the time to read this, the volunteers at Tampa Bay Beagle Rescue greatly appreciate any donation you can offer.

I am pulling for the beagle and urge all of you to do the same. She is such a lovable beagle and deserves the right to a good life. My donation is in the mail.

Michelle,
Thanks so much!! I know you understand what hell these pooches went through. How terribly sad to have to live that way. I want the lady running that place, put in jail. And…I heard we (TBBR) got another dog from the same area. What is wrong with people? Isn’t there any compassion left in this world? I’ve had my beagle mix “Lucy” for 6 months now…I cannot even imagine not having her around. She has brought so much joy into my life. I’m sure beagles will do the same for someone else.
