but i wore it to my cousin’s wedding…

How do I feel about writing for the best local blog in the bay?

Well, I inadvertently wore a see-through dress today but wasn’t informed of the fact until about midday… about the same time I picked up the lastest issue of CL/WP actually. With that kind of news (best blog), I wore no shame. I wore a sashay. I’m just happy to be here folks.

Speaking of nakedness, Amy Goodman uncovered the corporate media Tuesday night at Tampa Theatre. Granted she was preaching to the choir, but still was awe inspiring for even the learned. There were beautiful tears of frustration at the hate and hostility in the world, the unknowing ignorance of good citizens who trust authority figures no questions asked and believe what the tv tells them to believe. They don’t look deeper into the 5 o’ clock news (a good start would be switching to the 6 o’ clock news, but I digress). I can’t give a better review of the lecture than reporter Seán Kinane, so I won’t.

And finally, wrapping up this MNF packed entry (I can’t help it…it is in the CL Hall o’ Fame afterall), I’ll be hosting the Women’s Show this Saturday from 10am - noon. My cohort is reporter Arielle Stevenson, the ”only 17 year old with Danae Jones’ number in her cell phone.” (Yeah, I didn’t know who that was either.)

Our theme is Women in the (alternative) Media; we’ve got interviews with luscious writer Inga Muscio, comic Kate Clinton, Danae Jones (Press Secretary to Jim Davis…aha), local e-book publisher (and MNF volunteer) Barb Perfetti and duh, Gina Vivinetto. Because Tampa Bay wouldn’t be the same without her.

Find WMNF on your dial at 88.5 or listen online.
