election 2006 straw ballot question

The other question you will find on the ballot in Hillsborough County is a ridiculous one asking if cities should regulate and enforce existing laws on “se xually oriented businesses.” It is a straw ballot, and has no effect at all.
Both the Times and Tribune say to vote no.
Not unlike many of the items passed by this Hillsborough County Commission I say it’s a preposterous waste of time and money. There is no need to answer the question, so you shouldn’t.

If this stupid thing DOES pass, what I want next is a recall vote for Bee Brian Blair for putting it on the ballot in the first place. Commissionards already waste our money, why waste our voting time too?

I felt this was not only inappropriate but a clear slam to Joe Redner. In other words if you elect him, we will not enforce the torrid deeds of Adult Industry. The good ole boy system continues. I hope he wins, he may not be who you want at your Sunday table, he will be a voice of freshness.
I accepted my change of residency to Hills Co. with the only shinning part being I could vote for him.
This straw vote has no merit and no place on the ballot. I think the cost should have been charged to Mr. Blair, who in his day was the steriod womanizing munger.

Kym, joe redner is an excellent role model! “Son, you too can exploit desperate drug-addicted women for profit! Be a PIMP, get elected to the BOCC!” I dont see how any thoughtful female can support a man who has made millions exploiting prostitutes. Maybe I’m too old school, I come from a time when pimps were considered to be the slimiest human beings, but Joe will never get my vote. if Joe is serious about the issues he promotes, he should support an electable candidate. I would run for office myself, but who would vote for a crack ho?
