stumping fourth grade
November 6, 1991 – Gov. Bill Clinton of Arkansas, on a one-day trip to Florida, visits a class of fourth grade students at Alexander Elementary in Tampa. Clinton, accompanied by Tampa Mayor Sandy Freedman, told the students that he wanted to be president because “there are too many people fighting, and I want to solve those problems. I think I can make a difference.” He also urged the students to study hard because “the future depends on what happens in this classroom.”
