well, she looks nice
November 21, 1951 – Margaret Truman, daughter of President Harry Truman, performs to mixed reviews in front of a less-than-capacity crowd at the Municipal Auditorium. Many in the audience were of the opinion that Truman had a nice, well-trained, sweet voice, but lacked the element of greatness. One critic noted that her voice was “pleasing but not exciting. The voice isn’t adequate for opera, but of course it isn’t bad enough for café singing.” Most were in agreement, however, that Truman was pleasant to look at and “cuts a pretty figure on the stage.”

Nice to know she’s gone on to write some really good mysteries.
