tasty yuletide dates

Part 2 in the super yummy holiday treats series. This recipe is a neat combination of my previously disclosed love of palm trees and my French heritage.

Disclaimer: My wife and I have been making and scarfing these suckers all day today. We will be fattening up the family later this evening. So here’s the recipe (it’s super easy):

Ingredients:

  • 2lb. package of dried dates
  • 13oz. package of brie cheese

Directions:

This is wonderfully simple to make, and also incredibly delicious. Trust me, make these and you will thank me for the holiday joy they bring your tastebuds and gut.

  • First, slice open each date on one side and remove the pit.
  • Next, remove the rind from the brie to taste. You can leave it on, I know I felt wasteful getting rid of it, but these truly taste better without.
  • Once you’ve removed the rind and pitted the dates, simply cut appropriately sized chunks of brie and stuff ‘em into the dates. Tada!! Done. More holiday goodies, without the holiday effort!

Variations:

  • Ditch the cheese and use almonds, marzipan or candied oranges instead. Mmmmmm.
