December 26, 1906 – Two streetcars collide on the corner of Seventh Avenue and Fourteenth Street in Ybor City. The “Seventh Avenue” car was traveling eastbound on Seventh at full speed when the “Sixth Avenue” car was making the turn from Fourteenth Street onto Seventh Avenue. Remarkably, there was only one major injury (the conductor of the Seventh Avenue car), with the conductor of the Sixth Avenue car avoiding certain death by jumping from the car just before impact. The motorman in control of the Seventh Avenue car received the blame for the accident and was arrested at the scene.
