This past week Education Week released its Chance for Success ranking. Florida ranked in the bottom half at 31 out of the 50 states.

Why is this state always in the lower half of US education statistics?

Clearly they missed all those editorials - Jeb did a great job with education over the last eight years.

We don’t spend any money on education, here. Look at the states ranking in the top ten getting results, then look at how much more they spend on their students — note particularly that the top five states in teacher salary are also the top five states in student performance.

Let’s start by getting rid of vouchers!

Jeb and his family did NOTHING for education. Unless you count contributing to the DUMBING DOWN of America. And, he probably had his mitts in the lottery dollars for school. (what a joke on your children that is !) Has no one here SERIOUSLY heard of the COWS teaching our children now??? (Ignite Curriculum on Wheels (COWS) from Jebby’s brother, Neilsie, remember the guy who ripped off the Silverado and all it’s shareholders??)

    Corporatism

Just to refresh everybody’s memory, “Ignite! Learning” is Neil Bush’s company. The one which, when Mom and Poppy Bush made the big donation to “Katrina Relief” they directed that all their money go to? That one.

As schools start to wise up to how crappy these COWs are (yeah, that’s really what they’re called—“Curriculum on Wheels” ya see) they’re starting to dump them, so Ignite! needed a new snakehole to tunnel in. Their hidey-hole? Educational “services” via youTube:

Ignite! Learning, an educational curriculum and new media publishing company, today announced that it has created a free learning channel on YouTube for middle school and upper elementary school teachers and students. Ignite! has formatted 40 segments of its popular science and social studies curricula for the Internet, providing content teachers can use to focus students’ attention on subjects like “Federal Powers vs. State Powers,” “The Mystery of Earth’s Tides” and “The Civil War (1861 - 1865).”

Ignite! has uploaded reformatted samples from its comprehensive, standards-aligned Curriculum on Wheels (COW), a new-media, interactive learning system developed for middle school and upper elementary instruction. Teachers use the COW to prepare and deliver core science, history and social studies lessons that enhance students’ learning and retention. Each portable unit includes a computer, projector and speakers and is preloaded with courses that cover multiple years of material, using songs, animation, maps, timelines and interactive games.

Given our ongoing discussion about Secession, slavery, the Civil War, Joe Biden and the Rotary Club (yeah, they are all related. How? see here) I thought everybody would like to know that this is how our young people are going to learn about these topics if Neil! gets his way.
