cover your petunias
It’s gonna get cold tonight. No - I mean really cold.
Temperatures are expected to go to 38 degrees around 5am tomorrow, and that’s just downtown Tampa. Your neighborhood will likely get even colder, and the wind chill will be below freezing. Don’t forget to keep your pets inside tonight, and go cover your plants.

My girl Amber works for social services in St. Pete and has advised that people there should dial 211 from any phone and she or another operator will tell them where they can go, too.

If it makes any of you feel better, I’m a USF grad (class of ‘94) who has been on the corporate relocation circuit for the past 4 years. I’m currently working and living in a suburb of Milwaukee, WI and the temps here have been consistently below 20F for weeks. It has snowed daily for the past 3 days and most nights this month will see temps below zero.
Of course, we don’t really have a homeless problem (that I’m aware of), so I can’t complain.
Good news is that I’m putting plans together now to get my family back to TB, so hopefully by this time next year, I’ll be able to share your collective misery. I really miss being a Tampan!
Bundle up and enjoy!
