John Iorio died today. Mayor Pam’s Dad and University of South Florida professor passed away after a long illness. He was 82.
Good thoughts to all of John Iorio’s friends and the entire Iorio family.

I remember Pam did some cooking show with her dad on public access, and they were funny together. Seems like he was a cool guy. Condolences to the Iorios.

I had the priviledge of knowing Jon from an early age, as he was a close friend of my parents. He was a giant, every inch, one of the “greatest generation”. More than his wicked wit, his expansive knowledge of literature or his infectious laugh, I will always remember Jon for how ordinary he was. Here was a man who had seen horrors beyond all imagining, and yet you’d never know it. A consummate intellect, he was the epitome of warmth, charm and humility. He overflowed with the richness of a good life well led. I will treasure my memories of him and miss him terribly.
