Dear Jake,

F*ck you. What did we ever do to you that pissed you off? Was it the Largo sex change firing thing, ’cause if it was we’re totally not down with that. That ain’t Tampa baby.

We could have made you so happy. You could be throwing to Joey Galloway and Calvin Johnson, and handing off to Cadillac and Mike Alstott. We would even over look your suckitude when you tried to throw a 30 yard pass into double coverage using your left hand. Anything’s better than the pussy we’re with now, he can’t even get his balls past the line of scrimmage (if you know what I mean).

We had so much to offer you; plentiful beaches, quality steak joints, no state income tax….we would have even turned a blind eye when you went to our ample strip clubs. ‘Cause we’re down with that.

But hey, it’s cool. We don’t need you or your beard. There are plenty of other fish in the sea. In fact, we’ve been talking to this other guy who is totally not gay. So enjoy retirement f*cktard.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! I feel your passion burning up the intertubes. I wonder if Plummer is retiring his crustache too?

  2. John Says:

This entire incident — no matter if the Bucs have a ring to their name and winning seasons to their credit — absolutely REEKS of “Same old Bucs”

…and the Glazer family is too focused on ManU to give a damn about it, and how Allen and Gruden are sullying their investment by even going after the mediocrity that is “Less Than” Jake Plummer.

  3. John Says:

BTW ski, I dug your story… ‘Course I bet you’d have preffered if I had done it form the Best Bucs Blog instead of on here ;)

  4. ski Says:

thanks john. i like the plummer move if for no other reason it forced the snake into retirement. also, the bucs could use plummer as trade bait, possibly picking up david carr (the most underrated qb in the nfl) from houston.

and did you see feaster came in second on forbes’ list of ? although he is bookended by mchale and billy king so i’m not sure how much credibility this list has.

totally inappropriate post. sticks of fire has reached new lows.

if you think this is bad you should have seen this donkey show i caught a few weeks back involving a gimp, an alaskan pipeline, and anna nicole’s corpse. it was hot.

and john, i meant to say feaster was on forbes list of best GMs in sports. i suck at links.

    Good evening,

In light of the most recent bit of Ann Coulter nastiness, I’m popping my head in the door to make the gentle suggestion that writers try to use a pejorative other than gay and not-gay when referring to the objects of their derision or admiration, respectively; preferably ones that don’t simultaneously insult, belittle, or demean human beings who also happen to be a minority. Because that particular minority have rather a lot of battles going on right now. I know the word gay has morphed into a common and broadly-interpreted schoolyard epithet, but still. There are so many creative and literate ways to disparage a deserving individual without also taking down an entire segment of society–why not explore some of them?

  8. litbrit Says:

And of course, the same goes for pussy-as-insult. Insulting to women, and terribly uninspired.

  9. Jason Says:

    plummer who?

It was a somewhat vitrolic post but language is intended to convey emotion, which this post certainly does. Frankly, the writer chose to write it this way and we as readers can’t affect that. If you really have a problem with it you can skip the post or write something better yourself (if it is good I bet Tommy would post it). In this circumstance the writer has the power, and rightly so, to choose his own language and maybe it is that lack of control that people find unnerving.

  10. Jason Says:

shit did I do the effect/affect thing? I hate that.

  11. tim Says:

I agree with litbrit about all these things, but the “not gay” comment as used here is not one of derision/admiration but a reference to Jeff Garcia’s actual sexuality, which has been of great public attention at various points of his career.

  12. Sandy Says:

WHAT a ‘phobe. Or was that satire? Really couldn’t tell. Stinks of testo. Piss poor post.

  13. dcdave Says:

Yes, what a controversial post, alluding to a controversy that actually happened (Garcia being called gay by T.O.). I think the real issue is the fantasy land you Bucs fans live in. Garcia and Plummer? They both suck. Plummer had the lowest QB rating out of all non-rookie QB’s last year. Ouch. Garcia is 37. What next, George Blanda? Jeff George? Whether you like it or not, there’s more potential in Simms, Gradkowski and McCown than there is left in Plummer and Garcia combined.

  14. anonymous Says:

Calling people gay is so retarded.

  15. kate Says:

If you are shallow or deep, silly or serious, smart or stupid, liberal or conservative, into sports or alternative music, there is something for everyone on this site. Handle it.

  16. C.W. Says:

Ski your post is just lame, with or without the F-bomb. You are now one more entry I’ll scan past when I read SOF. Congratulations hack!

  17. PortTampa Says:

Jason-you got the affect/effect thing right. “Frankly, the writer chose to write it this way and we as readers can’t affect (change or modify) that.” My parenthetical added. Effect would be used to show causation.

  18. John Says:

Congratulations, Tommy. SOF has arrived if you can’t have any of your writers post anything without someone getting anal about details to the text that lies within. Sandy can’t tolerate posts in general (see your attacks on Melissa), everyone thinks we’re either too liberal or too conservative (hello Michael Hussey!) and yet they keep flocking to the site to point these things out…

  19. tampabaymuse Says:

we flock to this site, because at one time it had substance and was an asset to the community. Tommy’s open invitational to all bloggers despite their quality has dragged this blog down. very disappointing. An editor, even of blogs has certain responsibilities imho.

hearing someone call Jake Plummer a F* and a pussy is totally worthless. How about a post how Jeff Garcia will be able to bring leadership and competition to the QB position. Or is this Buc guy scared of Garcia because of the G* word.

  20. d Says:

at first i didn’t like this post merely because i had no idea what or who it was talking about, but after reading the comments i’ve come to appreciate it. keep up the good work.
