Dave - The Delightful Yank - has gone over the bios of the five Largo City Commissioners who voted to begin the process to fire City Manager Steve Stanton because he plans a sex change. Here’s a quick snapshot:

Mary Gray Black is a Christian, on the Board of Directors for the FL Association for the Restoration of Ethics and a founder of the Largo Republican Club. Now, I’m pretty sure intolerance and hate are not Christian values… Firing someone because you think they’re weird or different? I’m going to go ahead and say that’s not very ethical…

Andy Guyette served in the USAF for four years, and now appears to be applying the military “don’t ask don’t tell” policy to city jobs.

Commissioner Gigi Arntzen thinks it’s ok to fire someone based on their gender if the community thinks it’s cool, even if that person is qualified for the job. Or is it “I’m too afraid to make a decision on my own so I’m deferring to mob rule?” Either way, we’re either dealing with incompetence or ignorance.

Harriet Crozier is involved with Dignity Programs? What she has helped perpetrate on Steve Stanton is pathetic, disgusting, cruel and certainly not dignified. She’s tried to rob Mr. Stanton of his dignity and in the process revealed her short sightedness and absolute inability to lead.

Gay Gentry: Again, we have a Christian, this time denoted as “active”. If by active you mean actively discriminating on a prohibited basis. She chose to vote to fire Steve Stanton as City Manager, not based on his skills and aptitude for the job, but based on the fact that he intends to have a sex change.
