wide web of (tampa bay) sports
There are a multitude of blogs covering local sports, some you may have seen, some you may not. It is my intention to share as many of them in this space as possible. And if you have any blogs you would like to see in this space leave them in the comments.
- The Rays have a new slogan this year, and Rays of Light is not a fan of the slogan. I still want to know when they will bring back the hit show.
- You may have missed this but the ArmchairGM blog offered to root for the MLB team of the highest bidder. Well the highest bidder was Rays President Matthew Silverman which means there is one more Rays blog on the ebays. And all for the low, low price of $535.
- The Bucs have been busy in free agency and Buccaneer Harbour approves of the moves. And those who disagree with BH will be subject to 30 lashes with a wet noodle.
- The Washington Post Sports Bog has sent a reporter/blogger to cover the ACC Tournament in Tampa. The Bog has so far been surprised by the lack of activity in downtown Tampa, and assumes downtown will become more lively as the tournament begins.

Just went to an ACC game today, and I can say for sure that Tampa won’t be getting the ACC tournament again. There’s just a general lack of enthusiasm around the Forum and no one here really cares about ACC basketball all that much.

yep, just watching the games on tv it didnt look like there were a lot of people in the stands. in defense of tampa the games where on an afternoon weekday, although considering both early games featured florida teams you would have figured more people would have been present.

Early conference tournament games will always be held on weekday afternoons. Honestly I’m not so sure that other host sites would have had that much more enthusiasm if they’re not already home to one of the participating schools.
The Forum does get the SEC tourney in 2009 - my guess is it will be just slightly enticing if only because there are larger schools in the conference, which means more alumni in the area. That and the Gators.
