tribune’s weak stomach

The Miller vs Redner Tampa City Council Race has sure generated a lot of interest.

Of course, the well known and controversial Joe Redner has helped bring real focus to the seat. When the St. Pete Times endorsed Joe, I was somewhat surprised, but when the Tampa Tribune endorsed Gwen Miller, I was shocked.

Only last week the Trib said of Gwen: “During the weeks leading up to the March 6 election, Miller provided at least three opinions on the property tax issue to the Tribune, the St. Petersburg Times and the public at candidate forums. She first said she would support a tax cut, then said she would not, then said she would wait for the state Legislature to develop a plan.”

In the endorsement they say: “Miller rarely takes a lead on an issue, but she’s done a respectable job and her voting record is solid.”

Seems to me they simply couldn’t bring themselves to endorse Joe Redner.

In today’s paper, the Tribune includes a very thorough article about the life of Joe Redner on the front page of the A section. The story is about as nice as you could get.

We have kept our Forum with Miller and Redner posted at TampaGold.com for you to watch and compare. For one hour you can see them handle questions on many topics. Have a look, then you decide.

No matter what the narrow minded staff of the Tampa Tribune may say, and who are bought out from crooked politicians, lobbyists, and special interests groups I am still voting March 27th for a honest man named Joe.

the only trouble w redner is he makes one boob mistake for every two or three sensible things he says or does, i.e., free passes to his strip club for voting, thereby calling attention to his biggest liability right when it seems he might have a shot. still, hes only idiotic about 25 percent of the time which is less than some on the council.

I remember being fairly astounded when no one said a word about the guy in az offering a million dollar lottery ticket or some such to anyone who voted. (geez)

I guess Joe sees it as win-win. People vote. People get to see the girls. People go to his club. He didn’t care which way they voted but well, yknow … it’s borderline incorrect or more.

Joe, just hire me on as a consultant and I’ll tell you what will and won’t fly from the avg gal on the street point of view. You in no way have ethics problems … like Mel Martinez who had to hire someone to tell him what an ethic R but it’s possible you need just that ONE person who can say ….. naaaah not such a good idea. That will be me. And I’ll do it objectively and kindly
    And, good luck.

    Voxpopuli —

Remember….Mel Martinez won because he slandered Betty Castor by trying to tie her to Sam Alarian (not sure if that’s spelled right). When it came out that the FEDS got most of the charges against him wrong (after the election of course)– Mel should have resigned.

It disgusts me that such a scum bag gets to represent us.

I, like most people in East Hillsborough, have the worste freakin’ representation in the world, check this:

    Mel Martinez
    Adam Putnam
    Rhonda Storms
    Trey Treviesa
    Al Higgenbothum

Could I get any luckier? :(

That is why I moved out of Brandon, and into Tampa. Too many migranes, and upset stomach when ever Ronda opened up her big mouth and all that would come out is pure hatred towards those who did not worship her views, and beliefs.
BTW, I heard that they just added a new book in the bible called the Gospel of Ronda. I don’t know for sure since I am a buddhist and do not read the bible.
