You know, when we misspell something here, we have the luxury of changing it just as soon as it is noticed. After newspapers have gone to print, they are just sorta stuck. Too bad all the street signs aren’t electronic, especially this new sign at the corner of Ashley Dr. and Kenndey Kennedy Blvd. in downtown Tampa:
Kenndey Blvd.

One must wonder, did they realize it and feel they needed a sign up while they waited for the replacement, or did every person in the chain of events from production to erection overlook it?

You say Kennedy, I say Grand Central Ave and some say Lafayette St. Welcome to Tanpa (Tampa).

We live two blocks from Ingraham, or is it Ingram? Two different spellings just a few blocks from each others. Same thing with Jaunita, or is it Juniata? Is this just Tampa’s way of messing with dyslexic tourists?

We have a memorial keystone up here in the admin area that says TAMPA BAY PROFORMING ARTS CENTER. In marble and bronze, even.

In Ohio, I lived on Cemetery Avenue, but the street signs and my very title to my home read “Cemetary.” The post office even has the word misspelled in their database.

Shucks, that’s nothin’. EVERY street sign is wrong along Del Mayberry highway.
