Pat Riley can have his “Three-peat.” I lay claim to the new word “Champwich.”

Champwich: Champ-wich
–noun
1. A single named entity (city, school, neighborhood) winning two or more consecutive same-sport championships or the like with a third, different championship between each pair.

Example: The University of Florida became national champs by beating UCLA in the 2006 NCAA basketball tournament finals, whooped Ohio State University to win the 2007 NCAA football championship, and topped their champwich with another basketball win in 2007, this time over Ohio State University.

Ok.. How do I get this word trademarked?

And I’m sure it’s happened before. Of course, since the Gators are the latest team to do it, perhaps their t-shirts should read “Chomp-wich.” Maybe not.

Attention, everyone seeing my license plate and honking and doing the Gator Chomp:

JUST BECAUSE I AM FROM OHIO DOES NOT MEAN I AM A BUCKEYE FAN.

If you would look for three seconds and my rear window you’d see my Ohio University and USF decals. Not a smidge of Ohio State anywhere. Do we assume everyone from Florida is a Seminole fan? Of course not.

So can we officially call this the end of Gator talk? I don’t think anyone’s interpretation of the Bay area would/should include Gainesville.

Let the Gators have their fun, they won’t be able to do it again for years to come. Any truth to the rumor that the reason UF is holding the champ celebration Friday is so Billy can spend Saturday packing up the moving van? By the way, Allison Dubois called and says she sees Invisaligns and a haircut in Joakim Noah’s future.

Tampa Bay also has many Seminoles and Hurricanes and Buckeyes and Yankees and Braves and Bears and Maple Leafs and so on. I’m all for big tents, but we’re running out of canvas.
