town ‘n’ country to experience “more odors than usual”
Ya gotta love that kind of announcement, huh?

April 20, 2007Repair Work Will Require Patience for Treatment Plant Neighbors
Hillsborough County Water Resource Services is asking neighbors of its River Oaks Wastewater Treatment Plant for their patience and understanding for the next few weeks, as a major repair gets under way that will mean more odors than usual.
A mechanical rake in a covered tank at the plant, on Sheldon Road in Town ‘N Country, is broken. To make repairs, the tank, which is used in the first stage of wastewater treatment, must be uncovered and cleaned. Repairs will proceed as quickly as possible, but the replacement equipment may have to be custom-made.
The cleaning and repair work are expected to take three to four weeks.
To complicate matters, the usual method for chemically treating the odors can’t be done while the tank is out of service. However, to try and help the situation - and nearby neighbors - the department is taking emergency steps to purchase and install fogging equipment to help reduce odors until repairs are complete.
“We are very aware of the problem, and we will do all that we can,” said Water Resource Services
Director Paul J. Vanderploog.
And here I thought it was just Oldsmar wafting down the street.
