eternal server failure
Hi folks, your friendly neighborhood web head here (no, not that one) to report on downtime this afternoon (that also came up on Friday from what I am told).
For much of the afternoon people saw a nice big, fat, juicy (insert extra adjectives here - but keep it clean folks
) “Internal Server Error” message on Sticks of Fire. That means something screwed up. Most of the afternoon was spent trying to figure out what the problem was and how to remedy the situation…
…which took a lot longer than it should have.
It turns out our Happy Employee Owned Web Hosts have issues with the server that Sticks is hosted on…. Something about a PHP upgrade that went awry. Never the less, after much annoyance and much malignancies (not to mention several cussing fits and anxious pacing) the web site is back up for your viewing pleasure.

As a user, I hate it when a site that I hang out on daily (and have a good rapport with) keeps me in the dark with regards to outages. I try to explain things as best I can on sites when that happens on sites I help out on…
