27, of Jacksonville, Fla.

assigned to 2nd Battalion, 37th Armored Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Friedburg, Germany; killed April 17 when his convoy was ambushed in Dwaniyan, Iraq.

Hartman, a native of Portsmouth, Va., attended high school in Virginia, but has lived in Florida since 1996. He enlisted in the Army in 1999 and was assigned the duty of tank crew member in Germany.

    Tommy, maybe we could talk up the troops a little more BEFORE they get KIA. Maybe blog about some local soldiers, get some stories from their families.
    I know the last thing I want to read about my nephew is that he died for no good reason in SOF.
    His name is Brian Trumpower and he’s a (yep, it’s true) fighting Seahorse doing Corps of Engineer work in Afghanistan. He loves music, gaming and beer and has grown into an incredibly sharp young man. Send him a message on his MySpace page.
