sticks ahead on $500 million debate
The Sticks of Fire community was the first to read about the $500 million debate between Ed Turanchik and Bob Abberger, which was subsequently printed in Sunday’s Tribune (but without Ed’s follow-up comments). The entire unedited exchange published here five days earlier.
In addition, Sticks readers have engaged in a lively commentary including remarks from Pierre Mathurin who has been speaking to the Transportation Task Force as a concerned citizen. The Tribune printed a letter sent by Pierre, after he spoke his mind at the public meeting and here in the Sticks.
The debate was kicked off by an earlier article published here, with links to background on the issue, and details about how you can provide input.
We want you to continue to use this forum and all others to not only learn about the stake you have in this community, but to tell us what you think about all of it. The comments here are open.

I NEVER understand why Ed Turanchik is given any credence in ANYTHING. Least of all as a source of what should pass for news. Does anyone believe he has the background for this?
He doesn’t would be the correct answer.
When you get the same person shoved on you over and over again, you check.
He’s a glad-hander and he’s selling the people in West Tampa OUT !

“He’s selling the people in West Tampa OUT!” you say? Funny you’d post this anonymously. I’d give you less credence than you give Ed. Better yet, I probably know who YOU are!

I could be any one of the people in west tampa who he is selling out. Rebuilding our neighborhood while we object to it. That’s WRONG. What’s his background for any of this discussion? I did not see you address THAT. Just ad hominem. Ed, is that you??

Must not be much of an objection if you do it anonymously. I doubt you even live in WT. If so, reveal yourself! (P.S., stop stealing welcome mats from the new homes, that’s just childish.)

Here at Sticks of Fire, we welcome ALL readers comments on issues that affect you and your neighborhood. Ed chose to offer an opinion on the subject at hand. Meanwhile, Anonymous chooses to offer an opinion on that person.
Anonymous, feel free to contact me, and give your thoughts on how West Tampa is affected by this or any other issues, and I’ll be happy to share your viewpoint on a main post.
